Privacy Policy
Coziw (“we”, “the app”) is an on-device knitting stitch archive. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes on your iPhone.
Where data lives
Project sheets, section rows, stitch progress, chart and swatch photos, export cards, StoreKit purchase ledgers, Credits balances, and display preferences are stored in the Coziw app sandbox on your device. Coziw does not operate a cloud account server and does not sync your knitting records to our servers.
Account and session
Access uses one-tap on-device session creation after you agree to this Privacy Policy and the User Agreement. There is no Sign in with Apple and no password. In Settings you can:
- Log Out — ends the local session. Projects, media, and Credits remain on this device.
- Delete Account — removes the local account identity and clears associated local projects, media, ledgers, and remaining Credits on this device.
Permissions
Coziw never asks for camera, photos, or microphone access at launch. Those permissions are requested only when you tap the matching control:
- Camera — when you tap Capture Chart, to photograph a knitting chart or yarn swatch for the archive on this device.
- Photos — when you tap Choose from Photos to import a chart, or tap Save to Photos to write an exported archive certificate.
- Microphone — when you tap Voice Mark, to record phrases such as “Row done” or “Next row” for on-device speech recognition so the row counter can advance. Manual +/− row buttons always remain available.
After you enter the main Projects screen, the system may ask for notification permission. Notifications use Apple Push so Coziw can deliver local or remote reminders you choose to allow. Coziw does not request App Tracking Transparency or read the advertising identifier. If you deny notifications, knitting archives and Credits continue to work. Manage access anytime in iOS Settings. Delete Account and Clear All Data remove any stored push token from this device.
In-app purchases
Archive Credits are Apple consumable In-App Purchases. Apple processes payment and shows product names and prices. Credits are stored on this device. Consumable Credits cannot be restored after the app is removed or after Clear All Data. Refunds are handled by Apple.
Clear All Data
Settings includes a two-step Clear All Data action that permanently deletes projects, media, ledgers, preferences, and remaining Credits on this device.
Children
Coziw is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the app to submit personal information about a child.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. The Effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
